Upgrading SilverFramework
Last updated on Saturday Mar 20 00:53
Before you start, make sure you have the following access:
- FTP, SFTP or SSH access to your Magento installation
- Login to your Magento Admin panel
Note: SilverFramework will overwrite any custom changes done in the template files (.phtml, .css or .xml) so make sure you have a full backup of your system prior to upgrade.
Ok, so here’s how you upgrade:
- Extract the content of the ZIP archive and upload the content directly to your Magento installation. The archive will automatically be uploaded to the correct folders within your Magento installation. Say Yes to all questions on overwriting existing files, however be sure to note the filenames as you will need to merge any custom changes back in to them later on.
- Log in to your Magento Admin control panel and navigate to
System -> Cache Management. Click on the “Select All” link in the upper left corner and then select Refresh in the Actions dropdown menu. Then hit Submit. You should now be able to see the new SilverFramework menu option in the top menu inside your Magento Admin panel. - Verify that the updated version is up running fine and do some tests on the Magento store to make sure everything works as expected.
